Riccardo Francaviglia è nato a Catania nel 1975. Ha scritto e illustrato numerosi libri per ragazzi conosciuti in Italia e all’estero. Fra i suoi albi più amati Il gigante piscione, Il cacciatore di nuvole e My Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Grandfather Was a Warrior, pubblicato anche in Inghilterra, Portogallo, Canada e Corea. Condivide la vita e gran parte dei suoi lavori con Margherita Sgarlata con la quale ha anche realizzato applicazioni e libri interattivi per smartphone e tablet. Narratore, attore e burattinaio, porta in giro i suoi spettacoli e le sue storie coinvolgendo centinaia di bambini e famiglie. Insegna Illustrazione presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Catania.
